No experience? No problem! Students at all levels of experience are members of WUTV. WUTV is a teaching facility and offers the opportunity for members to get hands-on experience and develop skills and confidence that will be assets in their career, no matter what their major. |
Wingate University Television is located......in Austin Auditorium. There is ample room in Austin for a classroom, a control room, four editing bays, a playback room, and office space. The studio is equipped with three television cameras, a teleprompter, and various monitors and audio equipment, including wireless microphones. The edit/control center allows directors and editors to view the input of the studio cameras, as well as that of the editing decks. Using the VT4 (Video Toaster 4) we can switch between live camera feeds and pre-taped segments. The final product is then recorded digitally and aired on Time Warner Cable Channel 22. All our programs are archived on DVD, making it easy for students to create "video samplers" of their work. The editing system is capable of handling DVD, VHS, SVHS, mini-DV, DVCPro, and Hi-8 formats. We currently use the non-linear systems of Casablanca Avio, VT4, and Avid. WUTV has Adobe After-Effects, Ultra 2, Lightwave, and Sound Forge 7 integrated into our system. |
WUTV OpportunitiesWUTV is open to all students from any major - no experience is required-just a commitment to learning the necessary skills to be a part of a successful team. Not only will you have an opportunity to learn teleproduction skills, but you may make new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. We'll teach you the skills required to work behind the scenes or in front of the camera to produce a television broadcast. Come by Austin Auditorium from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday or call 704-233-8152. |
